Photo: WWJD Hot Air Balloon Classic - Windsor, California
WWJD, the name of the first Balloon to launch during the Hot Air Balloon Classic in beautiful Sonoma County. It is a 2 day event held in Windsor California, an area known for it’s hot air balloon rides early in morning. When I was growing up in Sonoma County, I loved seeing the balloons in the air on my way to school or work. It was always a great thing to see. During the Classic you can get up and close the balloons and really see how they work and how they look.
The balloon was high in the air and the sun was just rising at 6:30 in the morning. That means the lighting was nearly perfect (a bit of blow out and glare can be found on the balloon). To get that really blue dark tint to the sky, a circular polarizer added allows the blue to be really blue as well as allow the colors to pop out.
