Performer during Carnaval Barranquilla Batalla de Flores - Colombia
Batalla de Flores is the the parade that kicks off Carnaval De Barranquilla, one of the largest festivals in South America. Batalla de Flores is a huge parade put on by the event’s sponsors. It is called the batalla de flores or Battle of the Flowers as the passing by floats pass out roses to spectators hoping to buy their affection. The group and young lady in this photo belong to the Club Colombia float and section of the parade.
The photo is straight forward. There was no planning. I just got in front of the performers to get a good shot back peddling to make sure I did not interfere with the parade. Later was enhanced in Aperture.
