Photo: Performer at Butter & Eggs - Petaluma, California

Butter and Eggs parade in Petaluma is yearly tradition to celebrate what the city of Petaluma is known for. You got it, butter and eggs. Well actually dairy and eggs, a farming community that celebrates with a big grand parade as well as well festive brews and amazing food and events for the children. This is one of the performers in the parade showing a great big smile.

The trick to this shot was to keep the sun to my back to prevent unwanted shadows as mentioned in my tips of how to photograph a parade. But as the subject got closer I had to turn my angle. The flash was firing at that distance to fill in the shadows so I had to make due with what I had and edit the shadows in Aperture. What do you guys think of the photo?
