Beautiful Cumbia Dancer of Carnaval Barranquilla - Colombia
Barranquilla every year has a party in the streets for 4 days before Ash Wednesday. It has parades, comedy plays and parties nearly all night long. The culture of Colombia really pops out on this day like all the beautiful dancers who come out for the parade.
The parade was sunny and that casted a horrible shadow. The event coordinator had set the photographers in a bad position. That meant hard harsh lights, this called for a neutral density filter to be use to cut down the brightness of the sun.
The sun also casted shadows needing a flash to fill in the light. I used the Olympus FL-600 to fill in the flash. The distance was not fall enough for a 100mm lens so it required that I boost he power some and since the shutter was so fast I would have syncing issues so I put it in Fast Sync mode.
